Bitter Pills

Bitter Pills

Look at Guyana today
Wet, dirty, smelly,
Plagued by politicians
Everyone pointing fingers
Who to blame is always the game,
Parliament or not is the same shit we in
A voiceless people waiting to exhale
Waiting for our leaders to mature
Where are the solutions?
The bitter pills of truth

The floods today are caused by us
Of garbage and filth
Poor planning and intellect
If Sooba and Green are the best we can do
Inundated Georgetown is two plus two

Everything is the Government’s fault
“Pick it up” should never be said
“Throw it down and be jailed” instead
Out of the mini-bus it flies
Cups, bags, bottles and more
Endless laws never enforced
Adding to our litany of woes

The Scales of Justice
Weigh your worth
The Rich walk
The Poor stay

Our real voices are never heard
Drowned out by the strident cries
Of the agenda driven frauds and blue flies
Propaganda men raking in the cash
Activist, Pastor or Spiritualist
Living off the hard earned bread
Photo ops with the recent dead
A curse on these parasites!
Paid to engineer a divide
Give them your ear
And they will steal your soul
Twisted with hatred you will grow
Race will define your every thought
I pity every fool they have ensnared

One is the way out of the box
One is a word that they avoid
One is how we regain our pride
One People, One Nation, One Destiny
Make One Love your way of life
One by One make the change
Give the parasites the bitter pill
Watch hatred die in the sunshine
Let justice and freedom reign
A new beginning in this beautiful land
